I write about the things I can't stop noticing.
I'm Larry George II, a writer and photographer based in Colorado.
For a long time, I thought my interests were too scattered.
I could spend one week thinking about photography and the next thinking about work, a place I'd visited, something happening in my community or a small moment with my family. I made photographs. I made videos. I wrote. And I kept trying to figure out what all of it was supposed to add up to.
I'm starting to think the answer is simpler than I made it.
I'm curious.
I like paying attention to people and places. I like asking questions. I like finding the story inside something that might otherwise seem ordinary. And increasingly, I've found myself returning to the thing I wanted to do long before I had the language for any of this: write.
This website is where those interests get to live together.

The Work
Writing and photography are two ways of paying attention.
I originally went to college thinking I might become a writer or journalist. Life took me somewhere else. I built a career in marketing and communications, while photography and video became increasingly important parts of how I made sense of the world around me.
But writing never completely disappeared.
Over the years, I've written essays, observations, professional reflections and half-finished ideas across different platforms. I've photographed family, strangers, neighborhoods, landscapes, events and ordinary moments that interested me.
This is my attempt to bring those practices back together.
Some stories here will be personal. Others will be about places, people, work, culture or things I simply want to understand better. Some will rely heavily on photographs. Others may barely use them.
I don't know exactly where all of it leads yet.
That's part of the point.

His work explores people, place, work, creativity and everyday life through essays, photography and visual storytelling.
Originally from Louisiana, he now lives in Colorado with his family. When he isn't writing or making photographs, he works professionally in marketing and communications.
